"TRIBUTE TO TUSKLESS"
OIGINAL OIL PAINTING BY C. J. BARNARD
Tuskless was the matriarch of a small elephant herd in Kenya, Africa. Cynthia Moss studied the elephants, and this herd had become one of her favorites, due to the struggle of the young Tuskless. One day a cow owned by the Maasai tribe was killed by an elephant, so the Maasai tribe wanted an elephant killed for retribution. Sadly, Tuskless was the random one chosen.
This painting is my tribute to Tuskless, showing the Massai warrior standing over his dead cow and Tuskless’s family charging toward her fate.
